We’re glad to share the June Youth Newsletter with you! With summer starting, we want to thank all our youth families. Your support, encouragement, and involvement help make our ministry special.

Thank you to everyone who came to Outdoor Movie Night. It was a lot of fun! I’m especially grateful to the Pretto Family for hosting us and welcoming everyone into their home. We are grateful that God blessed us with good weather and fellowship.
Also, thank you to everyone who helped spread mulch at church on Saturday. It was great working with you.

This Sunday, June 7th, we will be welcoming our incoming 6th graders. All youth families are invited! We’ll start at 5:30 pm in the FMC with dinner and time to meet everyone. You’ll get to know the leaders, see what a regular youth night is like, and join in some fun adult-versus-youth games. This is a great chance for new students and families to connect. We hope you can join us! If you could please register to ensure we have enough food, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who filled out the recent survey about new event ideas to replace the Ark Encounter trip. Your feedback was really helpful! Many of you liked the idea of a bike trip to Cottage Creamery and a bonfire at the Garn’s house. Many also suggested a lock-in. I hear you and will do my best to get one on the calendar in the future.
We will combine the bike trip and bonfire at the Garn’s house on Saturday, June 13th. I’ll share more details soon, but for now, please mark your calendar if you’d like to come. Even if you can’t make the bike ride, please join us for the bonfire, good food, and time together. Thanks again for joining in and helping us plan our upcoming events!

We are excited to host a Parents’ Night Out for Sunrise families! We’ll have crafts, games, snacks, music, and lots of fun for the kids, so parents can enjoy a relaxing evening off.
If you or your student would like to serve, we would really welcome the help. You can sign up by scanning the QR code or using the registration link. This is a great way to support our church family and help both parents and kids.

A Season in the Psalms
We’ve spent time with several important Psalms to help students connect with God and deepen their faith. We started with Psalm 1, highlighting why seeking God’s wisdom matters when making choices. Then we looked at Psalm 8 and talked about God’s greatness, our value, and our identity as people made in His image. Last night, we looked at Psalm 13, which led to honest talks about what to do when it seems like God isn’t listening. As summer approaches, I’m looking forward to growing together in God’s Word as we continue to look to the Psalms for guidance through real struggles in our Christian walk.

Our ministry is here to support and encourage you as you disciple your young people. We know that guiding teens can be challenging, especially when it comes to having meaningful conversations. This month, I want to share a helpful resource from Axis.org called “Getting Teens Talking.” This guide can help you move past one-word answers and connect with your teen in a more meaningful way. The PDF also includes a link to a YouTube video with practical tips for having everyday discipleship conversations. We hope this resource is a blessing to your family. Remember, we are always here for you and want to support you however we can as you guide your children in faith.
Help us celebrate those with birthdays this month!
